Hi, I’m Lindsay! Growing up in Tallahassee, Florida, my love for plants and gardening was passed down from my mother and grandmother. I moved to the area in 2002 to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and began working at a local garden center—where my passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces really took root.
After graduating in 2005 with a degree in Plant Science and Landscape Systems, I continued to develop my expertise in the Maryville and Knoxville areas. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various roles within the horticulture industry, including managing a garden center, overseeing landscape installations, working with landscape maintenance teams, and specializing in landscape design. Each experience has deepened my knowledge and fueled my love for plants and gardening.
After 20 years of learning and growing (and becoming a mom of two), I decided to launch Foothills Garden Coach. This venture allows me to focus on what I’m most passionate about—helping homeowners design low-maintenance, functional, and beautiful outdoor spaces that align with their lifestyles. Whether you’re interested in growing your own fresh veggies or simply creating a space that enhances your quality of life, I specialize in designing kitchen gardens and crafting landscapes that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical.
I’m passionate about coaching busy homeowners through the entire process—from design and plant selection to installation and plant care. When you choose to garden by design with me, we’ll work together to create an outdoor space that brings you joy for years to come.
